Appearance

Overall: Althea’s most notable aspect of her appearance is the way she carries herself, as although she is a Dragon rider she still carries herself like one of noble birth. She is pale skinned like most elves with dark almost black hair, that in itself is an unusual trait among elves. Usually she wears her hair tied up but when it is loose it falls down in soft curls. Most of her folk she grew up with had much fairer hair. Her eyes are a soft mossy green. She would be described as average height when compared to other elves. She normally wears the standard clothing of a dragon rider, only ever wearing dresses when social events call for it. But that rarely happens as she tries to avoid those type of gatherings.
Personality
One word comes to mind when describing Althea and that is: Strong-willed. Others may use words such as stubborn or hard-headed. She has never been a fan of crowds, so with social gatherings is most likely to try and find a quiet corner and sulk, even though she does enjoy being around people as long as it isn’t a massive crowd of people. Her upbringing means she can speak a variety of different languages and since becoming a dragon rider she has also learnt to curse in those languages. Often when someone annoys her she will mutter curses to herself. She has a bad habit of cracking her knuckles whenever she is stressed or nervous. Althea is the kind of person to speak her mind, although at times her mind tends to give out sarcastic comments that has gotten her into trouble a few times during her training.
History
Althea grew up in the Court of Mist, the youngest child and only daughter. Growing up her and her older brother were never particularly close mainly due to the large age gap. From a young age she had had a fascination with dragons and dragon riders. At times growing up she had felt like an outsider as few of the other girls her age had interests in dragons, most preferred to spend their time primping and learning all the skills necessary to find a suitable husband.
At the age of 16 Althea ran away from home to join the dragon riders. Initially she struggled to fit in partly due to her solitary nature and partly due to her sheltered upbringing. Eventually she was able to find her feet and found her place among the dragon riders.
She now is bond with a sapphire coloured dragon.
