By registering to Call of the Courts, you are agreeing to adhere to these rules and the rules laid down by Proboards, and if you forsake them, open yourself to the possibility of; warning points placed on your profile, temporary bans and even, as a last resort, permanent bans. If the rules change, then we will do our best to let all members know of the rule changes, but please try to refer to this thread as often as you can to remind yourself of the guidelines. We, the staff members, reserve the right to remove, add or change rules to this list. 1.) There is no word limit in RP posts, as we want to attract all levels of experience, from complete rookie to experienced RP'er. However, we advise that you attempt to match the post you are replying to, but obviously if the person you are posting with posts a 2,000 word reply, then you are not expected to match it. 2.) Please keep your posts to a level of 12 or below (PG-13). Also, please refer to the Proboards Terms of Service regarding rules on posting. If you do not adhere to both their rules, and our rules, then you run the risk of your account being permanently banned. This means your posts can include mature themes, discrimination, soft drugs infrequent light to medium language and moderate violence, sex references and nudity, but nothing more explicit than that. If you have a very good reason for using more extreme content, then please attach a [R] tag in your thread title if you're the original poster, or a [R] tag at the top of your post if you're replying. If a staff member feels that your thread or post is inappropriate, we reserve the right to edit or remove it, with any accompanying warning points applied. 3.) Please keep your posts in third person when in an RP thread, and attempt to use legible, coherent English. an example of 'third person' when writing in an RP thread is as follows. Rather than writing: This simple change allows for a better reading experience between characters, and is the most commonly used writing format. If you have any issues writing in third person please contact one of the admins, to see if they have any tips or advice they can give you. 4.) Any God-Modding or "power playing" will be severely looked down upon, and warnings will be dished out for any culprits. Do not attempt to control other characters without prior permission; for example, do not state that someone has already been hit by your sword, as this gives the other character no chance but to play along. If, for any reason, you would like permission to do something like this, then please PM the relevant character to ask for permission, but not before. 5.) Avatars must not exceed 200x200 and signatures must not exceed 500x300. This will keep the site as clean as possible. Please attempt to keep AT LEAST match 150x150 with your avatar. Slightly larger is acceptable, as it will be automatically compressed. 6.) On this note, your character should have a celebrity or model face claim. Please no anime or cartoons. Please also do not use personal photographs for your character. 7.) Please refrain from any form of bullying or harassment. We have a zero tolerance when it comes to bullying other members, and will be harsh to any offenders. Of course, this does not include any mock insults in the Cbox or in the OOC (Out of character) sections, or IC (in character) insults. However when the behaviour is intentional, this is when there is a problem. Please remember, when joking turns into bullying will be on the opinion of the victim. Any case of bullying should be reported to a staff member, who will take appropriate action. 8.) Advertising should be appropriately placed in the relevant sections of the website, and any other advertisements (apart from personal URL in your profile) will be punished, and any links will be removed. A warning will also be issued. 9.) Please refrain from using any text templates that interrupt with the flow or look of the forum. Any images included in posts that stretch or deform the page will be removed without approval. Please stick to the typically prescribed look of the forum, to keep things simple and symmetrical.
